A trip to the white scar caves lead to a hike up nearby hills. The tree was visible from miles away and was a subject I had to capture with these stunning rocks in the foreground. The weather was changeable but managed to capture the best looking sky of the day and the illumination over the vast dales expanding off into the distance. The image is a panoramic, taken in 3 portrait shots then digitally stitched before being retouched in Lightroom. It was challenging underfoot and under-tripod due to the instability of the rocks.
